1970s-1990s
Amala’s pioneering Founder, Ute Leube began tinkering with essential oils in the early 1970s. Her passion for essential oils and plants was rivaled only by her love of nature, and it was clear from an early age that her life’s work would be rooted in both.
In 1986, Ute Leube founded Europe’s leading essential oil manufacturer, which instigated a life-long dedication to responsibly, sustainably producing, and ethically cultivating pristine-quality, 100% natural essences that beautify the skin and connect people with nature. Every decision she made was grounded in the belief that pure, whole plants are the source of perfect balance and harmony.
2000s - 2010s
As the rest of the world began to understand the importance of clean living, organic food, and skincare, Ute was pushing boundaries and focused her attention on the efficacy of natural skincare in elevated formulations.
Bolstered by a growing demand from spa partners and more discerning customers, Amala was founded in 2008. Amala launched as a small collection of highly concentrated, efficacious formulas primarily available in five star spas. The brand gained a cult following who fell in love with the products, the rituals, the results, and the luxurious, sensorial nature of the aromas and textures.
Though the quality and distinction of Amala’s ritual was first validated in the world’s most luxurious and discerning spas, there was growing consumer demand and budding biochemistry that supported rethinking and a reformulation.
Groundbreaking research on mineral compounds, phytoretinols and pre+probiotics led to the development of cutting edge, biotic complexes that supercharge the formulas, increase absorption, and adjust to each individual’s microbiome for tailored, maximum results.
