Summer Smoothies for Glowing Skin - Amala

Summer Smoothies for Glowing Skin

When the weather's hot and you’re on the go, the perfect way to get in a snack or light meal while nourishing your body is to make a smoothie. If you don’t live right near a Juice Generation (yum!), we’ve crafted a few recipes for you to try at home. The best part is, each is infused with vitamins, minerals and fresh produce to help give your skin the extra glow you crave in the summer.

The Green Goddess Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1 green apple
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • Juice of 1 lemon

BENEFITS
This vibrant smoothie is a powerhouse of nutrients. Spinach and avocado are rich in vitamins A, C, and E, which are essential for skin health. Vitamin C boosts collagen production, while vitamin E protects against sun damage. Chia seeds provide omega-3 fatty acids that keep your skin hydrated and supple.

Berry Antioxidant Blast

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseeds
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)

BENEFITS
Berries are packed with antioxidants, which help combat free radicals that can age your skin. The vitamin C in berries promotes a bright, even complexion. Flaxseeds add omega-3s, enhancing your skin’s moisture barrier.

Carrot and Ginger Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 carrots
  • 1 orange
  • 1 small piece of ginger (about 1 inch)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (can substitute for dairy free yogurt)
  • 1 tablespoon honey

BENEFITS
Carrots are high in beta-carotene, which the body converts to vitamin A, essential for skin repair and maintenance. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce skin redness and improve overall skin tone. Greek yogurt adds probiotics, promoting a healthy gut and, in turn, healthier skin.

Tropical Glow Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1/2 mango
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 cup orange juice

BENEFITS
This smoothie brings a taste of the tropics while delivering a healthy dose of vitamins and minerals. Pineapple and mango are rich in vitamins A and C, supporting skin repair and collagen production. Coconut oil provides healthy fats that moisturize and protect the skin.
